Spiritual Direction is a sacred practice of holy listening. Sometimes, you simply need someone to sit with you—someone who will listen as you speak with God, help you hear His voice, and gently guide you in recognizing where He may be leading.

A spiritual director offers this kind of companionship and so much more.

As Douglas Steere beautifully said:
“To listen another’s soul into a condition of disclosure and discovery may be the greatest service that any human being ever performs for another.”

This is the heart of spiritual direction. It is the greatest service I can offer—and a sacred privilege I am honored to provide.

More about Emmaus Road

The Emmaus Road story from the Gospel of Luke took on new meaning for me several years ago.

I grew up in a Christian home, attended church, Sunday school, catechism, Christian schools, a Christian college, and eventually taught at a Christian school while helping to plant a church. I knew a lot about God.

But in the second half of life, as I stepped into a new season of ministry leadership, I came to a startling realization: while I knew a lot about God, I didn’t truly know Him.

That realization began a journey that led me into deeper spiritual practices and prayer. Along the way, I began to experience God in a new and more intimate way. I came to see that He had been walking with me all along—I just hadn’t recognized Him until my eyes, mind, and heart were opened.

During this season, through many heartfelt conversations with other ministry leaders, I began to hear a common reflection:
"Time spent with you feels like time spent with a spiritual director."

Those words became a turning point. They led me to a three-year training program with Sustainable Faith, where I became a certified spiritual director.

Today, I am honored to walk alongside others on their journey with God—listening deeply to them and to the Holy Spirit as they talk, explore, question, doubt, and seek. It is a front-row seat to the mystery of God at work in people’s lives—and it is one of the greatest honors of my life.
